I need to renew my bungalow's house insurance but require cover that allows me to leave it unoccupied for up to 180 days while on holiday.
Many insurances require regular checks every 7 or 14 days whilst you are absent. However arranging such frequent checks would be difficult for us.
Do any Funsters have house insurance for up to 180 days away without such onerous checks?

We have a cleaner/plant waterer, £10 a fortnight. Insurance says that's good enough, she comes in on her way past for a few minutes or occasionally longer.

I think you will find it hard to find someone and you will find it very expensive. Better if you can get someone to check the house once a week. When my father passed away we insured the house as unoccupied and it cost about £300 per month. It was cheaper to pay for a weekly cleaner and that counted as making the house occupied.

The insurers don't like empty house as leaks can do massive damage over a period of just a few weeks

Saga do a 60 day policy but longer spells away are OK if you let them know first and arrange weekly inspections.

Caravan and camping do 180 day home cover.

Before changing to CCC I asked my insurance company,LV, if my son stayed in our house every other weekend would that be ok, they said no. Had to be on electoral register as a permanent address

Admiral do 120 days if you ask.

But they are pretty fussy about location , if you are anywhere near a watercourse, even a stream.
