Tomorrow plan to go to the holy island , Lindisfarne, tides are fine but will I get a 7 metre moho across ok ? Looks doable from gaggle maps

No problem. Just take note of tide times. A great place.

Good roads all the way to the car park ,a little narrow in some places but the traffic is quiet. There is no overnight stopping on Lindisfarne so as said make a note of the tide times ( there is a go 30 mins leeway on the official times)
You can walk around the outside of the Abbey and there are great views from the observation tower on the built up Bank behind the Abbey. Then decide if you want to part with your cash to go inside. (y)

No problem with the motorhome as others have said. It’s a lovely island, so take time to explore and enjoy 👍👍

What would happen if you missed the tide and had to stay overnight ? They could hardly make you leave could they 😎

If you got stuck on the island overnight they will slap you with a fine, happened to a mate of mine who was wanting to photograph the Short Eared Owls at not and early in the following morning. The signs are clear.

And DON'T attempt to cross outside of the tide times. The water level comes up extremely fast and there is a cross current which will quickly sweep your van off the designated road.
The local inshore rescue are called out at least weekly to attend these idiots! Plus your insurance company will laugh at you if/when you try to make a claim. Pay the fine!

We went over a week ago ,stayed over during the day between tide times ,then left ,joined queue to leave waiting to see if any idiot wanted to risk it.
If you travel with a dog be aware that you will not be allowed into the castle with your pet the wife was not impressed after a 2 mile round trip to be told “Sorry no dog allowed.” As she said “why the hell didn’t they put a sign a mile further back to warn us🤯
She was pleased we saw a seal on the walk out though.🙂

Had a great visit to the island - it’s really very mystical . 3 hours on the island was just about enough , the abbey and castle (take your NT and English heritage cards ) are great . Village is lovely as well . Parked up now at the barn at Beal - lovely site , one of the best views . Loving the north east
