Edit: “Reluctant” in the title was auto-corrected to “replicant” and I can‘t edit the title, sorry.

We have a SMEV double hob in the MH and he smaller burner has become very reluctant to light at times. There is plenty of gas and there appears to be an excellent spark.

I have removed the burner and cleaned the underside, checked that the jet is clear and reassembled.

An other ideas would be very welcome.

2 possibilities come to mind. 1) the igniter has been displaced and is too far from the gas?. 2) the igniter is usually encased in a ceramic sleeve, if cracked the spark will track and the ignition source affected?. think cracked spark plugs?, it will sound OK but be in the wrong place?.

Does it light easily with a match/lighter?

I wondered about the spark, but the igniter seems fine and there’s a good spark. I’ll fiddle with it to see if moving it slightly improves things.

Yes, the burner lights perfectly with a match or lighter, so gas supply and flame channels seem to be fine.

It seems that not many others have experienced this problem, so not much help available. Thanks to those who replied though.
