We are new to a Forum of any sort so will be very interested to see how it goes.
We had a motorhome in which we travelled extensively around South Africa, including Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique and Swaziland.
We have just got ourselves a Celtic Rambler from the Fifth Wheel Co in N Wales and from September will be spending time roaming around UK and Europe. Any tips will be greatly welcome as we know it wont be as easier travelling around as in a motorhome. Also, has anyone got any recommendations for insurance cover.

Welcome to Motorhome Fun
While part of our membership is focused on the internet there are also many opportunities to rally and meet other like-minded members, where you can extend you circle of friends.
I do not own a fifth wheeler but can see that there are many advantages in having the extra space and transport to explore with.
As you are obviously experienced travellers, I am sure you will already be aware of the narrower roads in the UK that could test your skills in handling a larger vehicle.
Whatever you do, have fun.

Thanks for the welcome wishes.
We have just purchased a 2008 Celtic Rambler made by The Fifth Wheel Co in North Wales together with a 2008 Toyota Hilux as a package.
We are having problems getting insurance quotes. Only been able to get a quote from one company who will insure both the trailer and pickup together. A couple of companies will insure the trailer but am having problems getting quotes for the pickup as it has been modified to pull the trailer. Anyone out there have any recommendations? And has anyone with a Fifth Wheel managed to get breakdown cover?

Hi and welcome. I used Comptons as insurers, but few if any will give you breakdown cover. I presume its because of the nature of the coupling. For example, if the truck breaks down and needs to be recovered unlike a conventional caravan/trailer, a fifth wheel trailer cannot be hooked up behind the breakdown truck and would require a separate means of transport. Because of the landing legs this would then require another suitably modified truck to move it.
