Hi just joined don't know why I've taken so long to do so as been reading forum for years now, been reading the threads on fitting a spare wheel under motorhome very interesting and informative. Very keen on this mod as first motorhome / caravan not to have one ( 5 motorhomes 6 caravans ) very worrying not having one but had to admit to dealer never needed one! Great forum

Thanks all quick question do most people plug 240 in at home when van not is use or just once a month or so to keep battery etc topped up I ask as new vans with latest type chargers I would have thought were best connected but can only find differing opinions on subject advice please

You'll still get differing opinions on here, some do, some don't.

I usually do, especially during the winter, but my latest van is my first with solar and the batteries are lasting for ages. At the moment it's hooked up, but the power supply is not on.

Thanks for replying I have also for last van and it's forunners plus put a small oil radiator in during winter but still use van most months especially Christmas/new year new van also has a tracker drawing power so I felt it would be best but dealer advised against but reading hand book it says plug in as soon as possible
