Hi,

just joined today after starting out my research for our first motorhome. We are in process of listing our Vw camper and once that sells well be delving into the world of motorhomes.

We are a family of 4, me and my wife, and 2 sons who are 9 and 15months, got my eye on a particular one on e bay, (not sure on rules for links, so I won't post it) but it's a 1997, 6berth fiat ducato 2.5tdi, with damp cert etc with it. Any idea things to look out for with these MH's?

Hello and welcome good luck with your search.
I wish we had been able to have a MH when our family was young they would have loved it.

Thanks for that, I'll have a look into that. We've had a camper for the last 4 years, so there use to the slow pace, break downs and all that goes with it. Ha

Hi guys,

Forgot to say I'm North Yorkshire, for you northernish folk... well versed in e bay scams, often to good to be true, seen plenty in the camper world, thought I'd put a test photograph on here of my current T2, it's just to small with a family of 4.

Best of luck in your search...buying from a dealer has advantages...they usually give a warranty which is reassuring.

Welcome from a former T2 owner, 1972 Devon Moonraker. I know what you mean about being too small for a family of four. We sadly sold ours to fund a T5, which is now giving way to larger panel van conversion.

Thanks guys and gals, having a mooch through to a couple of local dealers in the pursuit.

Main thing to content with is the overall weight issue, my wife has only passed after "97" so I can see that been a pain. I suppose it can be done, although we may end up living in (a) motorhome so there's that to content with too.
