They’re not easy to spot are they? I love seeing wildlife and on our current trip have seen quite a few animals and birds but only 4 otters, one of whom wasn’t well. He looked as though he’d had a fight and was in a bad way but there was nothing we could do. I doubt he would have lasted the night.

I know some people will say we are mad but Otters and Owls are favourites but both normally are very shy and don’t like having cameras or noses thrust in front of them.

Ambulance Kidd, hi, thanks for the midge link, Avon skin so soft is our go to smelly stuff but it makes a mess of my cameras rubbing off face onto camera body, I haven’t got the bottle to run around with a net on my head looking like aright twonk

Stayed for several weeks at Montoir some years ago, watched the otters playing and fishing in the Loir every day, the fishermen shouted and hit the water with their rods (no cracks) but the otters took no notice and the young came to look at us.

When I was little my mum and dad took me to a place near Liverpool called Otterspool. I was soooo disappointed not an otter.. or even a pool.... in sight. :(

Are you the same or do you really spot otters? Lovely, funny creatures. :)

Greetings peeps
Is there a colder spotter?
yes nearly forgot to respond, there is a Mrs Otter Spotter, she in fact a very good spotter for me, and whilst I concentrate on Otter or two she will be looking out for others and usually sees them before me. She a very keen eye for movement. She is not great at doing all the walking that is sometimes needed going along coastline, but we are both getting older.
