Couple of first time Motorhomers here, fresh from years of (on & off) Caravanning and looking to try something different.
We're currently agonising over which unit to go for but think we've settled on a 1998 Elddis Autostratus TS SE Climatic, which is a mouthful in itself...
Any advice re. what's good and what's not, as well as friendly rallies to attend would be very well received :thumb:

Thanks Movan, it would be good to join a few like-minded individuals for a get-together.
We didn't use the Caravan that much as it was too much hassle hooking up and towing it around.
We're hoping the MH will prove more flexible and user friendly...:thumb:

Hi From Lincolnshire

Hi,Welcome to the fun,i had the same motorhome a few years ago,i did have a bit of damp above the habitation door that went into the roof, and the aircon can be a problem if not working, otherwise it was good, regards H.:winky:

Hi and thanks for the Welcome.
The unit we're looking at has had a £3000 Roof Re-Seal :Eeek: and there are no soft spots that I can detect but I'm not sure about the Air-Con Unit.
I didn't read the handbook that was with it, I just switched it on and turned the Temp Dial from Cold to Hot and back for a while.
The fan works OK but the temperature remained cold.
Maybe I missed something?
I'm not too fussed about it really as the fans are quite loud and I'm not sure I'd use it anyway although I'd rather it worked nevertheless.

welcome from another Lincolnshire member:Smile:
And from another.

We hardly ever use our roof air con. Maybe we need to get to warmer climes more often. :winky:

Keep your eyes out for the meets listed on the left hand side of the front page, (scroll down). :thumb:

Enjoy your Eldiss.

welcome from another Lincolnshire member:Smile:

And another.
All meets are friendly.
Local to you (us) are Saltfleet, Newark, Lincoln and Misterton.
Be warned, though.
Which ever meets you go to.....they are all quite mad.:Eeek:

Welcome also, Poki.

There seem to be quite a few of us New Comers in the area, looks as though Caravans are becoming a thing of the past around Lincolnshire.
Just got to work on the 40mph HGV's and the tractors now then.....

By "tea-total" Joy means they only drink for a hobby on a purely amateur basis.
There are quite a few hobby drinkers on here, but professional is the norm.:thumb:
