I’m completely new to Motorhomes (except we did hire one for a week back in 2000)
I love touring and usually do so in my Caterham 7, last summer we did the first half of a drive around the UK coast (Kings Lynn to Runcorn) and this summer we are aiming to do the other half, Runcorn to Kings Lynn.
This obviously includes Scotland and it’s islands where hotels are fewer so we’re aiming to do so in a Motorhome.
So lots to lean in a short time.
We've looked at hiring, but it very expensive, we couldn’t find a suitable van available for the whole duration (6 weeks in total) and think if we buy a second hand van and sell it after the trip we will loose less than the hire charge would have been.
I‘m also very aware that SWMBO will undoubtedly want the keep it afterwards.
