sounds like the frost valve has triggered. Have a look inside directly above where it is come out from you should see a device.
Some have a pull up knob to enable, other have different methods. But they trigger when the power is cut OR the temp falls down to dangerous levels.
The valve opens and dumps your water to save you from freezing damage.

PS: if it is not the one with the knob you lift, take a photo and post here and someone will know how to reset for you.

Is it the heating system frost relief valve ?
it should empty the system when danger of freezing, sometimes they stay open will be located on the floor near the heater unit.

Or, was water tank drained before winter - is drain tap still open ?

try to trace the little blue pipe. There must be some kind of valve attached . . .

( Its not your engine radiator overflow is it ? )
