If it really is Gale force or stronger my only tip is Don't. I saw one overturned on the A34 in the high winds this time last year.

Perhaps it would be an idea to check out some CL's on your route back.

There are loads of services between Gatwick and home.

Good luck.

See Here for information from some MSA operators.

In most you will probably be able to use the car area, rather than HGV, with rear overhanging a space or verge behind. On no account use coach bays and don't stay over 2 hours without payment or they will invoice you.

There are many places just off motorways where it may be more convenient to stop. Googling <just off the motorway> brings up a number of sites with details.

Popeye's advice is spot on if it's really windy. When you are driving keep your speed down so that you have time to deal with unexpected gusts or drag from other vehicles.

Hi Kaliwood

Dont forget if you do stop on the m/way 2 hour limit on the parking, they will send you a bill if you go over BUT they are not enforceable, I had one last year but following advise on here never reponded to it and it went away, if you are driving just keep the speed down and watch out when you overtake any wagons, good luck and enjoy your new van.
