Couldn't possible recommend it (as it is dodgy), but you can get a key from EBay. They come and go very quickly, but you can get them for less than £4.

They are usually Corporate or similar bulk keys, but do work ....

Cheers

You don’t need to activate W10.

Although you won’t be able to get support from Microsoft, you will be able to install 3rd party software and anti-virus programs.

If you want to go down the pukka route and get a genuine Windows 10 Home installation https://store.computeractive.co.uk/p36880-windows_10_home
If you want Pro version https://store.computeractive.co.uk/p36873-windows_10_professional
Note : the Home version is an OEM version and can only be installed on the original pc whereas the Pro version can be installed \ uninstalled on original and then transferred to a later pc. I would go for the Pro to get this flexibility.

Have you considered installing Linux instead as it doesn't cost anything and many people say its good as an alternative to W10.

If that question was for me Geo, yes. Three copies of Pro a few months ago when first offered.
Computeractive is one of the main UK published computer magazines and is part of Dennis Publishing (<Broken link removed>). I've a fortnightly subscription.

If the shed computer is only going to be used for web browsing you could look at installing a Linux distro on it for free. A good few Funsters have \ use Linux Mint.

Never had a problem installing 10 Pro (probably around 15-20 machines) so assuming all the hardware is working correctly it should go well.(y)
Let us know how you get on.(y)

Software no problem.
First time I've come across what seemed to be an intelligent pc that was resisting all forms of micky mouse attempts to activate.
I guess the guy I bought from had run out of tricks or patience.
I'm not at all advers to paying for software but baulk at being asked for £219.00 from Microsoft for what is a ailable at the price you demonstrated.
I think if Microsoft dropped their price to £40 there would be very few fake copies.
And they would be twice as rich as they are.

If you ever have to reinstall Win10 on it you probably won't have to insert the code again (assuming connected to internet) as MS identifies the machine and automatically activates it.
