We are away for Easter and our Truma combi 4 gas boiler failed to ignite this morning.
The first time it has missed a beat.
It is throwing a E 81 H error code in the display.
I can't find info on this code. Can anyone shed some light on the problem and possible solution?

Fault number 81 means, that the Ignition spark interferes with electronics.

To repair your Combi heater, the following steps are necessary:
– Ensure 12 V voltage under load at appliance input and check for AC voltage components that can be
generated by the power supply unit or solar system.
– Replace ignitor
– Check / replace ignition / monitoring electrodes cable Check / adjust electrode spacings
– Replace the electronics, enter heater serial number on the new electronics using the Truma Diagnose
Tool

We recommend to contact our authorized Truma Service Partners to get the heater repaired. They can carry out the repairs

It's cleared itself for the time being after a few attempts cycling the power off and on.
I'll monitor and see how it develops

As above...the code comes about after losing the earth . We suffered with it for a while until our guy who carried out the Hab service for us found the earth fault by chance! He was checking the gas circuit as they do, for the certificate to be awarded . It failed twice on the test but then fired up as if no problem was ever there? He carried out a full earth check across the truck and found there was a break in a earthing cable which proved awkward to solve because of where it could be. He decided on a new cable and took it straight down to the earthing point just on the chassis under the fridge freezer by the rear wheel left side. He also put an extra earthing cable from the Truma direct to the chassis too. SInce then , all has been fine and no more error codes have come about.
More than happy

I used Hailley’s Burnhouse Caravans and they were good.
The were able to replicate fault and spoke with Truma who said it was a ignition problem.
They Removed Combi4 and did a workbench service due to limited access and replaced ignitor and ignitor electrodes and put it all back together very tidily.

🤞 that solves the problem. Time will tell
