Help please we can only get a trickle from our flush on our toilet all other taps ok any ideas please. Thanks Lynne

Does your toilet have it’s own flush tank or does the flush water come from main tank?

It comes from the main tank, we have fitted a new valve, but still only a very slight trickle.

If the taps have micro switches then the toilet must have a micro switch that's not working. So the pump will not run when you press the button. You could try turning a tap on and then trying the toilet while the tap is running.

Yes we tried running taps at the same time but no different

So just to confirm, do the taps have micoswitches or not ?
And
Do you hear the pump running when you activate the toilet flush ?

Was the “trickle” present ... prior... hence fitting a new valve?.. and not cured issue?...

What type of toilet is it? On our MoHo, the water system is pressurized all the time, and the toilet flush is an electric valve to release the pressure to the bowl. The micro switch may be faulty, perhaps?

Taps have micro switches and yes you can hear the pump, we have fitted a new pump and a new one way valve, it is a pressurised system. It works the same as before the new valve and all the other new bits, help. It’s the old style cassette toilet.

You need to work your way backwards from the toilet water pipe, so disconnect the water feed pipe to see if anything comes out, if not work you way back to the pump checking at every fitting as you may have an obstruction.

In that case... Somewhere in the pipe ( usually right at the point it joins the pav ) or in the pan its self, there must be a blockage... proly a build up of calcium ( fur )

the flush tube inside the toilet housing and the outlet nozzle sometimes block up. remove and clean

We had a 2002 Hymer 544 with bench type toilet. Had a similar problem with the flush.

The blade opening mechanism on the roof of the cassette compartment has some wires with a fuse. On ours the wire eventually fractured because of the frequent rotation of the blade opening mechanism.

It's a long time ago but seem to remember there was a reed switch involved. The reed switch was ok but the connecting wire was broken.

Seem to remember I unscrewed the carrier mechanism in order to carry out the necessary repair.

Just remembered....the reed switch/micro switch only prevents flushing of the toilet when the cassette is removed.

If the wire in that area is fractured or partially fractured, you can bypass the switch. That's what I did.

Could be the solenoid packed up, normally mounted in the cassette housing. It's an electric valve that opens the water flow to the toilet.

We we have changed the solenoid

Suggest you wiggle the electrical wire on the underside of the cassette compartment to see if there's any improvement in flush power. You'll need to manually close the microswitch during this procedure.

This wire forms an important integral part of the flushing system. I also seem to remember there is a fuse in the vicinity. Take this out, clean the contacts and reinsert.

If the microswitch is completely faulty you won't get any flush. If it's partially knacked (causing a high resistance) you may get a partial flush.......as you are experiencing.

its either midcro switch or a presurised system unlikley to be both

they are pressurised using a solenoid valve to deliver the water. To prevent accidents when the cassette is removed, a microswitch/reed switch isolates power to the solenoid

Thank you for your replies, we have been away for a little break . We now need to solve this properly as a gallon bottle of water in the toilet to flush really does not cut it. We have replaced everything but not the micro switch so I guess this is the last part we will need, fingers crossed. Thanks again, we will update you with our news.

I've never come across one like that. Had a caravan and 3 Motorehomes with Thetford loos not had that feature in any of them.

What's wrong with using a spray bottle?
We often use a spray bottle when wilding, makes the cassette last another day and saves water.

We use a spray bottle with diluted Thetford pink in for no1 flush. Any more serious matters the flush or more effectively the.shower head if it will reach.
