we have moved along the coast today to a lovely site in Antibes, they gave us a choice of 6 or 10 amp. We don't really have much need for EHU apart from Lorraine's hair drier and straightners. The hair drier is sorted as they supply a free on in the shower block so just the Straightners to sort, I can't read what the wattage is or the voltage not that it would help me anyway. Lorraine when she turns them on they go up to 220watts.

Would 6amp be sufficient for this woth nothing else on, my other options are pay for the 10 or let her go curly

Oh Please! Gerry, look at your fuel bill alone just to get there

Dip a bit deeper and pay up, then you can keep your beer cold as well :)(y)

I would pay with no issue but if 6 amp will do then why pay for 10 when that won't run her hair drier so no other benefit. Plus I'm Scottish and if I can save a pound and my wife get a new hairstyle at the same time then it's a win win for me :):) Lorraine might see it different :)

Lorraine when she turns them on they go up to 220watts.
If they are only 220 watts they won't be very good. 220 volts more like.

6 amp will let you use a total of 1320 watts
10 amps will give you a total of 2200 watts.

So if they are 220volts and I don't know the watts how do I work out if they will be ok.

Can't agree with your logic or table. A 2 kilo watt electric kettle will run on a 13 amp fuse.

A 13 amp domestic fused plug can take up to 2860 watts

Amps x volts = watts

Edit. I think your table ia American running at 60 htz

We use 220 volts unlike the US at 110-120

It's a US table - 120v.

The straighteners will use about 1 amp (y) so you'll have 5 spares

Do hair straighteners work if the flex is still coiled up?

Whoever wrote that chart must live on another planet and never have used electric.
Not one single appliance is marked correctly for watts vs amps.

Oops......Just noticed that's a 120v chart so divide the listed amps by two for 230v appliances.

Get a12v pair works just as well as 240v so no need for ehu.
Just need battery bank and solar panels so will get cost back eventually
