Can't believe something else gone wrong. Think DavidG58 cursed me ...

Paid £20 to have alarm info transferred to me from Van Bitz when I bought my van and it worked fine up to couple of months ago. Stopped working.. no red lighr on dashboard and lights don't flash when I click the buttons. Help please. :( Too many things going wrong on mh and in house ... feel like going insane. Thank you.

It is proberly the battery in the remote. The battery’s in my remote went and could not set alarm. You should be able to open fob, maybe a tiny screwdriver or just prise open. Hope that’s all it is. Sure Eddie will be along soon. (y)

We are all at the NEC

Battery is CR1220 info in instructions

Better to try second (spare) radio key

Is the engine battery OK? try turning your ignition on, put hazards, blower and headlights on to test

Engine and leisure batteries topped to full power.

Don't have a spare radio key.

Can I buy those batteries anywhere please or direct from you?

You can get those batteries in many shops, Maplins for example

Have you tried starting the van? Flat engine battery is more common than remote battery failing instantly

If the remote battery was getting to the end of its life you'd notice over a period of time as you would have to get closer and closer to the motorhome to arm and disarm

Why have you only got one radio key? You really should have two

Was only given one radio key when bought the van (second hand).

I have needed to get closer and closer.

Batteries are fine. I had new alternator couple of weeks ago and all batteries sorted ...

Will try Maplins. Many thanks. (y)

Thankyou @eddievanbitz this post just saved me a protracted phone call with my mother. The battery in ours is getting iffy, and wasn't relishing explaining to her how to open the key

Two batteries???, even then, it’s £7 to fit them.

Mickey
Yup 2 x CR1220 batteries, gently prise open the radio key case, bearing in mind if he\she breaks it it will be expected that it is replaced with a new one, the batteries are slid out in the holding clip in a retaining ring, polarity checked, new ones replaced in the retaining ring, observing correct polarity. The new batteries in the retaining ring is slid back into the holding clip and the holding clip and then the circuit board is relocated into the case, including the fiddly key ring strap and the plastic case is carefully clipped back together, and knowing Timpsons, tested

A tenner!

As I say I don’t think that that is a ripp off

Thanks @eddievanbitz , I think when the time comes , I’ll fit them myself.

Mickey
Absolutely if you can, but I think it’s good that shops can help people and make a small, reasonable charge

Let’s be honest, how much profit does Timpsons make for selling three quids worth of batteries? And the ten minutes or so spent with Moran has to be paid for

Ultimately why should some expect something for nothing?
