I can't find anything in the manual that says my Burstner has an airbag on front passenger side .. see photo. I need to know urgently if it has one.

There is nothing on the driver's side to say there is one there but guessing there is.

The panels containing the air bag are usually marked.

What year is the van Joy?

So do you think there isn't one in the front driver side either?

Can't really read the text on the bottom of the centre of your steering wheel under the Renault logo - but it looks to say "Airbag".

The passenger side airbag is often located in the top of the dash, on that side - but your photo doesn't include that area.

There's usually at least one warning sticker - if you have an airbag on that side, sometimes on the sun visor;

Although not definitive - passenger side airbags are usually an optional extra on most motorhomes.

...I only just found [after one year of ownership] the airbag switch in my car - it was only when I opened the passenger door, I saw it on the side of the dash.

It does say airbag on the steering wheel so there's definitely one there.

The other panels are usually marked the same but I wouldn't like to say for sure that no marking means no airbag.

Also I'm not sure that a van will have the facility to deactivate the passenger one like a car does.

There is not one on the near side.
If there was there would not be a trinket tray as if it went off it would project the items like missiles

Black button does look 'aftermarket' so perhaps VanBitz
Have you a shot of the top of the dashboard above teddy's head toward windscreen?
I'm thinking, as it was an optional extra back in the day, 99% certain you don't - unless you can find stickers/writing/embossing to say such.
- check back of pax sun visor, just in case.

Whey hey. Thanks. I can put baby grandaughter in babyseat then and not be as tied. :)

:):):):):)
Yes not a problem.
If you look at any air bag you will notice that things cannot stay on unless glued or screwed
I suppose it has been done somewhere but the result would not be pretty if it deployed
