Hello funsters:
well I have just ordered a timing belt kit hoping to have it installed while our little Niesmann Bischoff Flairs is in storage for the winter months. My mechanic has advised me that I have to put a new front main oil seal and wwe should do it at the same time as the belt kit exchange. My big problem is that i cannot locate any here in north America. I have tried the internet no luck I am hoping that a funster can help me out.
the motorhome is a 1994 with the Fiat ducatto 2.5 tdi engine code 8140.47 vin ZFA230000*05007126
This is the front oil seal goes over the crankshaft.

if it aint leaking, leave it alone.

nothing in the autodata spec says to change it.

Geo may be along soon to prove me wrong !

Flair oil seal

My mechanic says it is leaking and should be replaced. I am witing for word
from a couple of places on Ebay Uk see if they have the right one.

definately worth replacing then.
as a last resort, remove it and see if anyone can match it for size....surely must fit other engines as well. :thumb:

Hi Ron that looks like UK chasis number, is it?
If so maybe Fiat or my normal factors can get one.
I will check tomorrow. be happy to post one out to you if they are available and if your not desperate, I imagine it will take a day or three to get to you:thumb:
