Help replacing strip light in moho (1 Viewer)

We need to replace a ceiling light strip and have managed to prise the diffuser off. The tube looks pretty standard - Osram L 8W/640 but we're not sure whether we need to remove the black covers from the pins on the tube (see first pic) or whether there's a connection beneath the ceiling fitting.
Can someone help please.

The black pin covers look like insulators to me & should just pull off complete with the cables attached.

Just pull them off. It's the manufacturers cheapskate way of avoiding the need to fit the correct tube end connectors. Inside the black heat-shrink are metal tubes that slide over the pins of the fluorescent tube.
