1st time asking for advice/help on here! Should the battery charger charge the leisure batteries & vehicle battery at the same time when on mains hookup?? Seem to be finding that one of the batteries is losing power. Cant work out why - we have a Swift Sundance 2013 reg!!

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
Turn the EHU off for a couple of hours and check the voltage of each battery.
Then turn on the EHU and check each battery voltage again. A battery's voltage readings (if being charged) will be higher than it was when the EHU was turned off.

Please keep answers simple for me.......

MULTIMETER. If I have two solar panels, (also have two leisure batteries) if I buy a mulimeter will it tell me how much charge is coming from each indiviidual solar panel?

Will it tell me that the charge is going into the leisure batteries rproperly?

Will it tell me how much charge is coming OUT of each leisure battery to the engine battery?

Thank you.

Oh, are multimeters simple to use and if so which do you recommend that is simple and not too dear. Thank you.

You really want a clamp meter for what you've described Movan. It has a spring loaded opening clamp on the end you simply clip over the cable and it tells you the current flow in the cable.

This is what me and Lennyhb use:

PS be careful buying a cheap one because they don't all measure DC amps, they are advertised as 'DC' but just do DC volts.
