Hi,
We have a Burstner Panoroma motorhome (11 months old) and are just about to set off for a few days. We've just discovered that 3 of our mains sockets have stopped working! Hubby has checked the trip switches and they are all ok! All the other main sockets throughout the van work as normal, it is just the one in the garage, the one behind the passenger seat and the one behind our microwave. Oddly enough, these were 3 of the 5 additional a sockets we had fitted by our dealer at the time of purchase 11 months ago. They have always worked fine up to now - so we are at a loss as to what may be the problem.
Has any of you clever people got any suggestions as to a possible solution for this?
It's Sod's law that these things always happen at a weekend, when service departments are closed and you're just about to head off somewhere!!!! Grrrr!
Thank you.
Sue

Hi Sue

as said, a loose connection at one of the sockets.. if you feel competent, check them one at a time.

they are wired by looping from one to another, like a daisey chain.. it may sound odd, but check the known working ones first.. hopefully you find a lose wire feeding the dead ones in the chain. ..

safety at all times.. before removing a socket.. un plug the EHU cable at BOTH ends..

Thank you for your suggestions guys.

Hubby is going to follow your advice and see if he can see any of the problems mentioned.

I will let you know how he gets on.

Thanks again. :D

Sometimes, the wires can look 'intact' into the socket, but the screws retaining the wires can become loose, causing a resistance problem.
Isolate everything from the supply, (including your outside mains connection), and then go through each socket, tightening the screws that hold the individual wires. Do this as well with the socket the loop has been taken from. Re-connect, and try.
