We are currently in France and our fridge, a Dometic 7505 is playing up.
It won't stay lit on gas.
It ignites immediately and stays lit for a few seconds whilst the ignition is still clicking.
Then it simply goes out. The red light on the front of the fridge flashes just before the flame dies. Maybe that means there is some kind of electrical cut off shutting off the gas supply.

I took the cover off to clean the burner.

Yes, thermocouple it’s the copper looking tube that comes out from the flame, look to see that it isn’t touching any metal on is way into its housing, also give it a clean and make sure the end is properly in the flame... if that doesn’t work then a new one is the first cheapest option to try.

It seems to be clear of any metal. Is more or a grey colour at the tip where it sits in the flame.

You need a new thermocouple, they burn out at the end - not obvious

Just check that the nut at the other end of the copper pipe goes into te gas valve is properly seated. The thermocouple doesnt generate much voltage, more a current generator and the slightest poor connection looses the power ( that holds the gas valve open)
A bit hard to know but most problems are from rust falling back down the flue and spoiling the flame. You should be able to hear it gently hissing away
Dometics website lists lots of dealers in France but quite likly a decent caravan dealer would have the spare thermo. Do you have the part number?
Best wishes

Mike

Since May 05 (Ex Tuggers).
errpaul.

When searching for the part using RM7505, the number appears to be 2932333020 Dometic Thermocouple [Dometic Spare Parts], which applies to other model numbers as well.
From your photo, it doesn't look to be a very long thermocouple.
This one comes up using the same Dometic Part No.
