Help - our battery won't charge on 230V (1 Viewer)

Hi, I'm new to this so forgive my ignorance. When we connect to 230V our fridge comes on but our battery is not charging. We have an instruction book for the Schaudt electrics but it is in German and my technical German is rusty to say the least. Does anyone know if something major is 'kaput'? And, is it possible to get the instruction book in English? I tried the website but it again seems to be in German only.

Thanks for your help.

You don't say which motorhome you have.

We have a Burstner and had the same problem. Basically the fan on the "E-box" had failed which caused it to overheat, thus was not doing it's job of charging the batteries.
The "E-box" (located under passenger seat) had to be replaced. A common problem apparently and big bucks ! Fortunately we were just inside our warranty. Phew!

My charger has a switch on it. Worth checking to see if it is indeed switched on. :thumb:
It also has a fan which you can hear when charging so if you don't hear the fan maybe 2Dreamers experience is a possible cause. :Eeek:
