Help on V55/5 please (1 Viewer)

Hi
Well my Hymer is now home with us from Germany and she is better than I ever imagined.
I have informed HMRC, changed speedo, fog lights and main beam.
Now I am completing the V55/5, which seems to be ok up to the point of paying the road tax due and the £55 registration fee.
Do I include a cheque with the form or will DVLA inform me how to pay?
Also do I include the original German documentation, receipt and transfer?
She is a Hymer Starline 640 Sprinter 316 cdi, 3800kgs 2002 - so 15 years old.

I've not done a motorhome but recently imported a classic car from Australia for my employer. I included payment with application form and sent all original paperwork. 10 days later, original paperwork was returned shortly followed by the V5

when I registered my new m/have which I imported from Germany, I enclosed 2 cheques with the paperwork to DVLA
one for £55, the first registration fee, and a separate cheque for the first year Road fund licence fee, which in my case, for a < 3500kg pvc, classed as PLGV, was £235.
if you don't send the RFL fee, your application will get returned

I sent all Germany registration paperwork, CoC etc, with a cover letter itemising each enclosure and I asked for originals to be returned (copy everything before you send it!) I got everything back except the German registration papers.
V5c came back within a week, original papers back within 3weeks.

is your MH new or 2nd hand? if new I can send you a copy of the cover letter I sent to DVLA.
if second hand, I've no direct experience I'm afraid.

That,s great Gerry. No, mine is well second hand. I am the 3rd owner, she is 15 years old and certainly does not look it.
I will sort a covering letter etc.

Send your cheque for the road tax along with MOT and cover note from VIN number. DVLA will sort it out. I used to be a simple exercise before they closed down all the local DVLA branches, but now everything has to be done via snail mail.
