"dealer refitting all the pipe work 'properly' "........I have has so-called ' Gas Fitters' ft a new length of pipe by pushing it through the van side wall without covering the end of the pipe, which resulted in a 'slug' of polystyrene insulation being pushed into the pipe an thus causing a blockage !

For safety I'd go with a tube heater, as used in green houses - with fan/ceramic heaters you have an exposed heating element which I wouldn't like to leave on a 'sealed' shed with a motorbike ... petrol fumes and an exposed heat source are NOT a good mix IMV.
Ceramics are pretty safe. The element is PTC which means if the fan stops it doesn't overheat. It's not wire so unlikely to spark in the unlikely event it fails.
