Hi
On CMC site on Isle of Wight in the pouring rain
Couldn’t get into local pub for dinner, so returned to the site for scrambled eggs on toast. When Susie put the microwave and toaster on together the rcd blew. Turned the toaster off, reset the rcd and put the microwave back on. This time all 240v sockets went off, fridge, microwave, radio etc, rcd still up but no lights on the Sargent board. Unplugged mains cable, refitted, checked all Sargent fuses, all ok. Fridge now on gas but batteries etc not being charged. No response from wardens on site but will speak in the morning.
Any suggestions please.

When you say rcd is that the one in the van consumer unit or on the ehu post.
Or both.

First you blew your internal trip. Then you blew the campsite one. Big items like microwaves, toasters, kettles and the space heater need to be used one a time, preferably with the hot water turned off.

And the one on the campsite might just be accessible by lifting a flap on the post you plugged your cable into. Sometimes, they're behind a locked flap, or remote and inaccessible.

If the site is not too busy could you plug into an adjacent socket just for the night

Thanks guys.
Site full so no chance of “ borrowing “ next door. Warden came this am and sorted out the site rcd.
But as theMet police and similar say “we will learn from our mistakes “ But we will!
