We have not been able to get our gas frdge lit. We had it serviced a few months ago and the engineer had it working. SInce then we have used it on only 12v or hook up. However, when away last week we wanted to use it n gas and could not get it lit.
AS soon as you turn the knob to gas, the pizo igniter (the oval space on the right) continuously flashes and clicks but no ignition takes place. If you hold in the knob which switches to either 12v, gas or hook up the flashing stops.
Does anyone have a similar fridge ? probably 18 years old as van is. Have attached photo of the front of fridge. We looked around on youtube but the fridge we could find on here has different controls.
Any help greatly appreciated! Our van is in storage so we will try it when we go next week.

You hold in the button on the right, next to flashing light, when it stops flashing keep it held in for 20 or 30 or so seconds until it stops. It should then be lit. If it carriers on flashing when released its not lit and may have a faulty thermocouple.
PS, you don't hold in the button that switches between 240, 12 volt and gas.

Figaro posted while I was typing. If that doesn't work :-
Is gas getting to the fridge? The service engineer might have turned off the isolation tap so check that first. I know it's obvious but do you actually have gas in your bottle/tank and is it turned on?

Next check other gas appliances - hob OK and space/water heating? This then rules out a problem with the regulator.

There is little else to go wrong, only the thermocouple.

On our fridge if it's not been used for a while I have to wait a couple of minutes for enough gas to get through, sometimes takes a couple of "starts".

See it's an Electrolux - can you give us the model number? Do you have a handbook for it?

We have one almost the same as yours------it took me ages to light it when we first got the caravan------ I just kept trying and eventually it did light------ I think it was the gas line full of air as there was no gas bottle on it when we got it-------- it takes a long time to bleed the gas through!!!!!!

First thing to check is the gas burner jet is clear. It's almost always that stupid tiny jet is blocked
