Help Needed With Bumper Repair! (1 Viewer)

We have had a small 'reversing' incident in our Rosie Knaus Traveller and I have searched through the web to see if there are any replacement rear bumpers but as she is an older girl (1993) I have had no luck finding anything. So I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas on a 'self fix' for the plastic bumper. Unfortunately I cant afford to take it to a specialist but I can be pretty savvy at doing most things myself and was wondering if anyone on the forum had any genius ideas on how to make the bumper look any better? Third picture is for comparison. TIA for any advice its gratefully appreciated.....have a great day!

I would take it off and bridge the gap on the back with glass fibre maybe with some aluminium mesh to reinforce it. Then build up the front to the right shape. I would probably then take the other side off and spray them both.

You could weld the cracks first with a soldering iron just to hold them in place then reinforce the back with fibreglass, if you got very creative you could make a mold for the missing bit from the opposite side and laminate into it putting the pattern back on.

Worth noting the texture on the plastic, difficult to recreate accurately.

Also don’t forget to drill a small hole at the end of each crack or split to stop them going any further.

I did this with fibreglass matting \ tape and resin however it's a smooth finish as opposed to textured.

are the screws ‘post impact’ or older?

Screws are post impact, Just to stop the top bit 'flapping about'. I had seriously considered leaving it for now (i had silver duck tape over it to make it look a little better ) but we may have to sell (due to moving, covid etc ) so i just wanted to make her look a bit prettier for her new owner!

Its a 93 plate use the ducktape or just leave it is you are selling then it is there to see so no surprises for the buyer, there can be no sharp edges for the MOT but other than that it is cosmetic after a certain age we all have a few creases.

If it proves too difficult then duck tape it is! I wouldn't hide anything from potential buyers as I would hate it if someone did that to me .
