Help needed. Lost all favorites i have saved.On windows 7. (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know how to recover My saved favorites.Not had any issues with computer.Turned it on today,went into favorites and it is empty.My history is still there.

Same happened to me earlier this year. Apparently you can blame the clouds, according to GJH.

Would you know if you are using chrome or internet explorer. Google will sign you out of chrome every so often and you have to sign back in with your Google account. It's pretty instant.

I have no idea why internet explorer would do that.

Have you checked your recycle bin? If in there you can send em back!

If you do a bit of googling, you will find that it's a common happening.

There is a folder you can unearth which they are stored in, but it is overwritten automatically so they are probably lost.

try typing favorites in "search programs and files"

Janine is right - if you Google "where are Favourites stored in Windows 7" there'll be a page somewhere that will give you the file path. If it's internet explorer my guess is they'll be somewhere in the C: > Users folder, under your account name. Only problem is it might be in a hidden folder, so you may need to set your folder preferences to 'show hidden folders' in order to get to it. If your browser is Google Chrome they'll be elsewhere.

Most things like that are recoverable if you find out where to look - I recovered all my Favourites for both browsers from an old hard drive just the other day.
