Hi All,
I have seen a Swift Bolero 744 PR. I am thinking of buying as the rear lounge makes up into a truly BIG bed. I’m 6ft 4 tall !!!

My question is: is a double lounge a popular choice (I’m always thinking of re-sale)
Is the Swift a good van (I know personal choice)

It’s just the motorhome is expensive and I’m in one minute then out the next.

Cheers everybody

Steve

Having been a member on here for many years, I can tell you that no one layout could be singled out as the favourite. One person’s comfy rear lounge which makes up into a massive bed is another’s nightmare of having to make it up every night.
Personally we are definitely in the rear lounge camp (two tall people) and consider fixed beds a waste of space.
You should buy what suits you the best, it will also suit someone else when it comes to sell.

Hi Annie,
Thank you for your response, my idea was to actually leave the rear as a bed and use the front lounge as it’s big enough
But you are correct, there will be someone who would buy it 😀
Thank you once again

It's a very popular layout, especially for families. The "u" shaped lounge seems to be a very British thing.
We have had at least 4 vans with that layout over the years and loved it. Well suited as we travelled a lot with our 2 live at home grandkids.
While travelling with kids we kept it as a lounge and built the bed at night. When we travelled as a couple and especially on a long trip ie down into Spain, we left the bed made up..
Downside is the bed can be lumpy due to all the cushions making the base, we used a thin mattress topper to improve it but not 100%.

Big benefit is on rainy days and having a nice big lounge to sit in. (y)

Hi Tonka,

Thanks for this, yes my thoughts were to put a nice thick topper on it
We had a Duvalay mattress topper in our caravan, yes very comfortable but also very heavy, 😁 check that out before going for a thick one. 🤔😎 Bob.

This is the first van I've had that has 2 lounges ...I've a large u shape lounge at the rear and a large lounge at the front but it's only me and the dogs so I find I never use the front lounge . But I have a fixed drop down bed. I couldn't be bothered having to make a bed up every night so unless the rear lounge is comfortable enough to use as a bed permanently then I'd probably go for one with a fixed bed

There i quite a buoyant market for the rear lounge as so many Caravanners move to Motorhomes and go for what they are used to, you are not not the only 6’4” fella out there either, get what suits your lifestyle and worry about the resale having enjoyed the benefits.

Hi Littlewheels,
That’s exactly what we have done, went for the two lounges and keep the rear made up as the super king bed all the time. Sheer luxury after a camper 😎
