went to start my motorhome last week, it was a freezing cold morning. The van turned over but would not start. Called breakdown they spent 2 hours to no avail. Had van recovered to a garage specialist in commercial viecles. They have tried everything no problem fuel injectors etc. Nothing showing on diagnostic. Checked all compression all sensors still nothing. Any suggestions it's a autotrail tracker 2015 on a fiat. Help please.

enjoyed the freedom over the last couple of years but still Wish we could have got away more often
Immobiliser?

Friend runs a motorbike shop, majority of his breakdowns are immobiliser related.

Yes they have checked pump, and made sure injectors opening. We have not had a second of problem, up to that morning.
When I went to start the van a warning saying check diesel filter came up. They say they have checked all this and made sure no air in system or water.

When you say checked pump, is that in checking fuel is being pushed to the injectors?

If you have compression in the cylinders and fuel being injected in along with engine turning over she should run.

That's what they said. The garage is very respected do work on council vehicles.
It's a strange one.

Don't wish to appear rude, but it might be better to take it to a different garage.

They have the vehicle, and I would hope would be in a better position to diagnose the problem, from us lot at a distance.

The thing is you can check the pump is pressurising but if you have a blockage in the positive line then she won't start.

there scanner should show pressure in fuel rail, there should be a relief valve which might stay open if it has overpressurised and stop rail from pressurising

I'm sure somebody just posted about this pressure switch fault on here quite recently, seemed like a quick and relatively cheap fix. Maybe just ask the garage if they've checked it ?

I will check this with them in the morning. Put this on a fiat forum and somebody also suggested this. Thank you.

Is it still under warranty ? If so as said I would let Fiat recover the vehicle .

I have had problems on new vehicles with strange results which was a hair line like crack in a filter body .

Don't think they have changed the fuel filter, maybe just worth a try. Seems most people think it's a fuel problem.
