HELP! - Looking for site near Richmond North Yorkshire

Hi all,

I'm booked in to take part in a cycle ride starting early on Saturday September 4th starting from Richmond, North Yorkshire. I don't really want to drive up on the morning as it's going to be a long day.

Does anyone know of any sites in the area as I'm really struggling to find anything. I planned to stay in a hotel but they're all booked up, so looking to take my motorhome.

Any suggestions welcome!

Not been but there’s a CL at Scar Close, Hudswell which looks very close to Richmond, depends where you’re starting from. There’s another CL at a farm near Catterick Garrison but if memory serves me it’s a few miles from Richmond from there.

Ellerton lake is only about 10 miles from Richmond http://www.ellertonpark.com and is quite a big site so I imagine you would get in OK.

This looks decent too, just a bit concerned about the extra 20 miles of riding before/after the event!!

The flattest way is to go to Easby Abbey over the river and then along the old railway line but then you have a hill into town but its a good warm up, that used to be our chosen route on the tandems
