HI - I'm a newbie with a 1997 Autotrail Cheyenne and I'm in a panic because of the sudden cold snap.

I know I need to drain the boiler down, but got no manuals when I bought the van. To complicate
matters I'm in West London and the van is stored in Poole. Just setting off now, hoping I will find enlightenment
when I am looking at the boiler. I saw a post about this recently but have no idea whether I have the
same set up.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

The drain will be obvious under or very near the boiler.

There may also be a valve in the water system to help drain the water pipes to the taps. Also, a drain for the fresh water tank.

When you have all the valves open open all the taps in their middle position so as to allow air into the system and aid the water getting out.

The valve for the pipes may be in an outer locker or under seats.

Hopefully someone will have a van like yours for more specific advice.

When you've done all the above, you'll find that if the taps are open, the water pump is running continuously. You need to stop that. There may be a water pump switch on the display panel. If not there may be a 'Pump' fuse on the fusebox, so pull out the fuse. Leave it somewhere obvious, If your memory's as bad as mine you'll forget exactly what you did by the time it comes to spring

Thanks to you both. I managed to get help from the wonderful Essanjay in Poole. It was really simple - a bung on the outside of the van on the square flue. It's a v. old boiler - a bit like me. ;);)
