While refitting the cap to the separate drinking water tank (the one In the garage, with the hoses and wires for the submerged pump, I broke the nozzle off. (See attached photo).

Has anyone else done this and how easy is it to fix ? Where can I get a replacement ? It looks a beggar to refit as the cables from the pump pass through it.

Get the part no of it then google it and if worst comes to worst contact manufactured you wont be going anywhere soon so plenty of time to get the parts to fix it.

Since 2008 & many years tugging
You will have to get a new one as they are polypropylene the only way to repair it would be plastic welding.
You will have to take the pins out of the connector to the pump and remove the pins to get the cable in and out.

Edit:
Ideas above sound good.

Thanks for the idea about the bulk head fitting. There’s room to drill a bigger whole and brass won’t break as easily ;)

On and off for many years.
Try an agricultural hardware supply place as they often have all sorts of stuff tucked away. The ones round us are still open as they are an essential business. Or even an agricultural engineer.

Might be best to phone first and email photos :)

Possibly someone like this:

or caktanks are helpful as above :)

Looks like a replacement cap might be the easiest solution, have you had a look on Cak Tanks site ? Failing that, you might be able to fit a bulkhead connector in if there's room ?

Thanks for this. It gave me an idea for a quick fix. I have drinking water again, Albeit only for our « weekend away on the drive ».

It wont meet the water byelaws but it works. Now off to buy one of those brass nipples.;);)

Please spare a moment to remember the felt pen that gave its life for the repair..

Those look more suitable than the brass ones - I’ll follow up

Thanks everyone for the pointers. I’m up and running again and now have more ideas to try!

Just a final thank you for all the pointers on this. The parts arrived from Fleabay This morning and the repair is made. I went with the brass coupling in the end as I am less likely to break that.

(Note I say less likely, not won’t. )
