The heater on my VW Transporter 6.1 is not working (the blower and a/c are ok). Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

(I've also posted on the VW Forum)

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
The heater make and model might help.
On gas presumably, so do the hob burners light?
Are you on EHU?
Has it been working previously (today....this week......this year)?

Is the vehicle new to you - has the heater been working recently? What year is the vehicle?
Is the dash control still connected to and operating the heater water flow valve?
Is there water in the engine cooling system?
Have you put Radweld or similar in it to cure a leak? (Don't ask me why I ask that :()
If you haven't used the heater all summer the water flow valve may be stuck shut.

The vehicle is 2 years old & I've had it from new (I know, it's still under warranty but the nearest VW garage is an hour's drive away, and I was hoping it might be something simple - always the optimist!)

The heater has been working recently - and I'll certainly check the coolant tomorrow - thanks. Not sure about the water flow valve?
