I’m in the process of changing my charger I have a swift Moho with a Sargent EU 600 and a Px 300 charger.
I am in the process of changing the charger to a victron IP22 30 amp. ( more lithium friendly ).
The thing is that the px300 has 3 wires coming out and the victron has 2 + and -
Dose anyone know what the 3rd. Wire dose and is it required. It’s brown and yellow and is connected to
The terminal marked M S.
I have included some photos any help would be appreciated.thanks.

Thanks for that your right it clearly shows mains on indicator 12 volt
I’ll phone Sargent in the morning to see the consequence of leaving it unconnected.🤷‍♂️
cheers.

Might be worth asking if the MS signal needs to be a a regulated 12V, or will the charging output (12V to about 14.5V) will be a suitable substitute. If they say no, you could wire in a small 12V stabilised supply to tell the EC600 the charger is powered.

The crux of the question relates to the 12v 'mains on' trigger feed needed to send back to the EC500.

Sargents PX-300 PSU has a 12v output which is used to tell the EC500 that the mains is connected so the system knows that mains is available.

This could easily be solved by plugging the IP22 230v plug into a 2 gang extension socket.
Then using DC 12V power adapter (transformer brick plug) plugged in next to the IP22.
That way when the mains is on, charging the battery a 12v mains on' trigger feed is available.

this is very interesting 🧐 did you manage to get this all set up buddy ? I too have a px300 but it runs to the nord Mcu-c
Everything in my van is now Victron
Just this charger to sort next
So would be a massive help seeing how you did this because of the 3 wires mentioned
I did get sent a video on a guy that unplugged this and capped it off then run new wires from the new Victron charger to his leisure battery… he then fitted a iec kettle plug on the victron cable then change the cable going to the old px300 with a female iec plug that then power his Victron charger
But again … he had a totally different system in his motorhome then we have
But should work
It all comes down to leaving this one brown - yellow wire out 🤷‍♂️

Where is the brown and yellow wire connected at the other end?
It is probably a voltage sensing wire that allows the charger to know the actual battery voltage so that it can compensate for volt drop in charging cables. Quite a few chargers have them but they are often within the charging leads and so invisible.

It’s the same wire as above on his images buddy the one on the left
Because those on the right are positive & negative

Only 14 months old this thread - it’s getting better!
Didn’t see the point in starting a new thread when the guy could jump on this say what he did

On our last MH the original charger had a 3rd wire , I swapped the charger out for another one which just had the 2 wires ( positive and negative )
After doing so the MH never recognised that the EHU was connected , so my assumption was that in our case it was a feed wire that went to the control panel for something.
I never did get it sorted right and a few months later we sold the MH , so I reinstalled the original battery charger.

I didn't spot age of original. Doh!
If the brown and yellow is a voltage sensing wire it is specific for the charger. If the new charger only has + and - connections ignore the brown and yellow, so long as it is disconnected at both ends.
All the above is on the assumption that that lead is a voltage sensing lead, not something else.

You are correct buddy I disconnected that socket with x3 wires left to the side
Wired Victron to the leisure battery wired the Victron to the pcu and all works fine 👍

I just wanted to explain a little more incase anyone does see this post and want to change the px300 to ip22 it is a straight swap actually but the signal wire that goes to the control panel that shows you are on hook up is the yellow and brown wire … it shows the electric icon on the panel above the door , this is the only thing missing
If you wanted to also have this to work … get a extra plug socket fitted near the Victron charger and buy a Dc to jack lead adapter wire it to that and keep plugged it
Once on ehu it will signal the control panel that hook up in connected
