Hi, Sorry l didn't say Hi on my earlier thread and launched in with a question, all seems so urgent when you first decide to take the plunge after contemplating for years. Sorry if it sounded a bit impolite.

We are a middle aged married couple who wish to take our 2 grandchildren away with us, (if their parents allow) so are just on the hunt for a suitable used motorhome. We have just started cycling too. After reading a few threads it seems we should search for much longer before purchasing, thought it would be easy, yikes.

Looking forward to more reading on the forum and making a checklist for ourselves

Thanks Janine and DBK that made me chuckle. Ours are 5 and 7 years old and we have wondered if after the first few trips we may decide to go alone hahaa

Thanks, l have been mindful of the seatbelts but only just heard about payload last night, l think on here. l have no idea but l think it's the weight of all your goods, your van and the weight of the passengers is that right? Where would l find that out?

It is easy, took us 3 weeks.

Go round every dealer with camera an notepad. Play at living in van especially on a cold rainy day. Get home and evaluate the data. Buy.

We made provision for grandchildren and they never came, it just did not work out. We may have bought a different layout if we'd known this.

This all suggests to me ..... if you haven't already ..... hire one for your first outing or two to see if the grandchildren are allowed/ want/ like the idea! - then you can adjust your layout requirements to suit.

Hello Welcome to Fun, find the local motorhome dealers in your area, then you and your husband check out what works for you, do you like a end kitchen, would you like a drop down bed, is there room to keep all the outside gear. When you find a lay out that suits with four berths then worry about the grandchildren, as they are usually playing outside the van anyway, and if your happy with the van it's a lot more relaxing.

Hello

As has been said, look at as many as you can. Also for a wealth of information pay your £10.00 subscription as you've run out of free posts, it's well worth the tenner (y)

Hello luvlies... from the North West too so my advice is just keep up your friendly natural banter that you Liverpudlians have and you will make LOADSA friends... Look forward to seeing you at the meets. :) and the grandchildren will enjoy the freedom and new friends they make too. :)
