We are due to retire in a couple of years, well 23 months and counting.
Going to buy are first motor home then, as buying new working out what exactly we want, been looking for a few years already and have a few ideas.
Will be, I'm afraid asking lots of fairly basic and possibly stupid questions so sorry and thanks for your help in advance.

Yes I have learnt a lot through reading this site and looking on the net.
At the moment am looking at getting a Pilote P740C ticks most of the boxes for us.

We've all done that! Beginners have to start somewhere and there is a lot to learn. Been motorhoming for seven years and still asking stupid questions! Welcome to the forum. Lots of really nice and helpful people on here.

Welcome, why not take yourselves for a day out to Warners motorhome show in Malvern next week, you'll see lots of vans there. You could stay B&B at a local pub. Show dates are 18th-20th August.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Can't wait till I join you on the road but won't be for a couple of years time.
Will spend that time looking at my options so that I get it right first time and can spend my retirement enjoying travelling.
Will have to start asking questions and asking for advice and thoughts.

You know what? One piece of advice even without the question asked: next holiday, hire a motorhome as close as possible to the one you think you want, and try it for size. Same with the holiday after that, and after that - you can be fine-tuning your options and finding what you can't live without, and what you can't live with.

Getting Better
Welcome.....
I wish I'd found this forum before we bought one it would have saved us a small fortune...

As others have said, take the next two years to decide what you need as to what you Think you need...:D ask lots on here and you will get some good advice and probably a lot more banter and hopefully you'll get the right van...... well, until the next one takes your eye..;)

Have hired a van a year ago and this channelled our opinions on the layout we like, just be nice for people to add their opinions to challenge our ideas.
I am not into changing vehicles kept my last car 16 years from new and 200,000 miles on the clock so hope that I will get the van from new and keep it till I am unable to use it due to age.

That's a nice van but we opted for a Pilote GJ variant as it converts to a triple bed (and I'm a bit of a fidget bottom so a double bed won't do).:D

I saw you got the P740CG, please let me know how you get along over the next few years as I am looking at the P740C with the electric lifting garage ceiling, to store a small motorcycle inside.
