This is Richard & Lynne introducing ourselves from Sunny Deb’n. The forum looks great and it is hard to know where to start. We currently do not have a motorhome but that is set to change in the next 12 months as retirement will at last be just around the corner then. We have looked at a few motorhomes and have pretty much decided that the Auto trail Cheyenne 635 has the configuration we like. We would welcome input from more experienced people on their opinion of the best engine / chassis combination and any other relevant information on this vehicle.
I suppose this would be a good time to give you some information on our motorhoming history. Way back when we were in our late 30’s we decided that life was pretty boring so we gave up our jobs and loaded our possessions into my very old VW Type 2 camper and we drove it from the UK to Nairobi in Kenya. This involved driving across the Sahara Dessert and also through the rain forests of the Congo If anybody is interested in this trip then I can expand further but so much happened it is not possible to say more in this brief introduction.
So, many years on we would like to go motorhoming again but this time the UK and Europe will do just fine. We consider ourselves total newcomers despite our past history and in truth the vehicles have changed beyond recognition since our earlier adventures, so any advice would be very welcome,
All the Best
Richard & Lynne
