G'day,
In the 1960s I toured in Germany, Denmark, Benelux and France with an ex-Army bivouac.
From late 1960s to 1990-ish work and family commitments took over (holiday? What's that?).
In the 90s we got a trailer tent (a Conway Camborne).
In 2008 we got our first motorhome, a Swift Sundance 690L. I really liked that vehicle, but in 2015 I got talked into getting a caravan (Baily Cadiz). The caravan provided much more luxurious accommodation to the motorhome; but didn't really fit with our touring style (stay two or three days and move on) nor could we keep it long-term on our drive, thereby incurring an over Ā£500 annual storage charge.
So in March 2020 (a couple of weeks before Lockdown the First!) we got our second, and present, motorhome; an Elddis 185. We soon found that after having had two fairly large vehicles (the 690L and then Cadiz+ its tug), the storage space in our present motorhome was rather limited, even after taking out the two rear passenger seats. Our solution was a small Wychavon trailer. This has proved to be too successful, as we found we had spare capacity which we soon managed to fill.
Touring in 2020 was a bit limited with trips only to sites at Welwyn Garden City, Cirencester and Wells. That's me!
