Hi all,
Wanted to say hello to everyone on here. We bought our first MH in July. We had not had a caravan before nor were we tent campers but we really just fancied giving motor homing a go - no real idea why - just wanted to! So, after a bit of research, which wasn't too scientific, and a budget of £20K to £25K we ended up buying a low mileage 2004 Rapido 786F as various people had suggested to us that an older german or French MH was a good bet for us. We bought from Lincoln Leisure Vehicles in Lincoln who were absolutely great to deal with and did absolutely everything they said they would including a fantastic 3 hours handover which we really appreciated as newbies - cannot praise them enough. We have already been on quite a few mini trips including Polzeath/Whistable/Burford/Chatsworth and we both absolutely love every aspect of it. And the MH has performed faultlessly - every single thing on it works perfectly ( touches wood quickly!) and probably just as well as the day it was new - I think the advice to buy a quality older brand was good advice. I think the aspects that really pleasantly surprised us about the Rapido are the bed is really comfortable, the shower is great and really powerful and much better than most on the campsites, the heating works great and it's so easy to drive when you get used to it + around 28mpg so far. Looking forward to going somewhere abroad in it next year. Also looking forward to all the help on these forums when something does inevitably go a bit wrong with it. Only downside - why did we wait so long before buying one!! All the best Richard & Karen
