I will continue to keep this thread updated for the benefit of anyone else who buys an Iveco iris bus/ Stanford coachworks Iveco wheelchair accessible minibus bus to convert into a camper

I've unscrewed a plate from one of the walls to find that there is some pretty thick insulation already present! :)

Vehicle booked in for getting underseal done a week today to hopefully unsure longevity

Auto electrician coming Monday next week to look at existing electrical system and provide information on what electrical options are available to inform final build plan.

Nice one, what type of insulation is it and is it throughout including all walls and roof?

I took a photo of some of insulation in the roof. Looks like the stuff you would have had in your loft back in the day, it sure what it's called! As you can see no insulation above where the light unscrewed is situated, just the bare metal van roof not brilliant.

When the current ply roof comes off (which it will I'll be able to share the full extent of the roof insulation. Same with the walls.

Despite the presence of some insulation I've decided to strip it all right back and do it throughly myself. Gonna remove and tape up wires from the existing halogen lights and replace with energy efficient and space efficient LED's. This will allow for a higher ceiling insulated with something like PIR (Polyisocyanurate)

Took up the some of the floor myself and got down to the original van floor. Roughly 10 cm/ 4 inches of height. Looks like the whole floor can come up. Plenty room for some decent insulation and flooring with enough height for a 6 foot man to stand. Get right in!

Need to figure out how to bolt out the rest of the floor from under the chassis. I reckon it's a case of getting under there with a socket set and unscrewing the right bolts. I'm getting there and will share my solution for anyone else that buys one of these Stanford Coachworks flat floor wheelchair accessible conversions as it sure would have been useful for me!
