We have travelled in UK and France and now looking at Spain & Portugal.
Our Spaniel always comes too.

Let us know how you found portugal and spain?
We too are looking at doing this when we are retired and would love to hear from you, when you have returned back to england

We headed south then west a bit & found Spain then kept on going around the coast until we found Portugal (sorry couldn't resist)
This our 3rd year being retired, gone off Spain a bit, just don't feel welcome. We are in Portugal at the moment at Figueira da Foz with about another 5 British van & an assortment of others here & really enjoying it:thumb::thumb:, the people are more friendly, there are lots of places to stay mostly wild camping (not sure what it would be like in the summer) Weather has been good until this week, beaches are far nicer than Spain. We will definitely coming down here next winter but probably won't spend more than a few days in Spain.
