Hi everyone,

My husband and I are about to jump into the big wide world of having our own motorhome. Had a few years experience with renting but after forgetting socks and pants on the last trip and now the kids are older we’ve decided to take the plunge! I’m of course running away with thoughts of bedding and dining sets and was wondering on any advice when it comes to setting up from new. Got a water hog, chairs and bbq already! Hello Welcome, if you have not already bought your Motorhome , check it's a lay out that works for you, check the pay load, have a read through Jims book about buying a van.
If you have already bought your van then just get the basics to start then gather what you need it's so easy to collect clutter and extra weight, if you haven't already get a solar panel fitted better first than last will save you so much in the long run and give you a lot of extra freedom.
Most of all enjoy.

To start with you usually pack far more than you need & sometimes forget the little but essential things. Over time you will realise certain things are never or very rarely used so ditch all that stuff. We have downsized motorhomes & have had to cut back on what we travel with. Surprisingly it boils down to being more efficient without comprising your comfort needs.

Thank you for the warm welcome guys!!! I am looking at the necessaries - bedding and kitchen bits I’m still looking at tips for stopping the plates and cups rattling in the cupboards.... I read that shelf liners help to stop movement!!! We have def researched the layout!! Sofa seats and fixed bed!!
