Hi Guys
Have ordered a Hella plug to fit onto my Ring Tyre inflator, which only has crocodile clip fittings.

Which part of the Hella plug is live. Then centre pin or the outer ring?

Thanks very much

You can choose when you wire it up Robert but I would suggest the centre pin as is the norm with ciggy lighter plugs. (y)

I didnt want to risk blowing up the tyre inflator so thought I'd better check as the wiring colours on my German MH are a bit confusing

I'm going to Change our three ciggy lighters to Hella as and when. I'm sick of the normal ones coming loose and losing power. Hella are much better IMO. (y)

The two cab sockets in our Burstner are "normal" ones but all the habitation area sockets are Hella. I changed the plugs on two multi-socket bars to Hella as a result. The centre pin on both original plugs was positive so that is the way I wired the Hella plugs.

Unless its powering an electronic item, as opposed to a plain motor or heating device, it makes no difference....but centre pin is always regarded as live.

As your compressor is a simple motor it would still run regardless.
