Heinz Baked beans (1 Viewer)

Well it's about a year since this thread was started and I see no real consensus among members so I thought I'd wind it up a little and add some scientific contribution.

I just popped indoors for a snack to keep me going - didn't really know what I fancied - opened the larder door and there on the shelf were some baked beans - not just the usual Heinz but a tin of Branston too!

So - let's get this sorted once and for all.

2 slices of bread into the toaster.
2 tubs of beans into the dinger.

Missus dished them up so I didn't know which was which - cleared my plate and can conclusively say that I still couldn't tell the difference. Both sloppy, watery, tasteless and bland.

I'm definitely going to stick to my dwindling stock of Carrefour/Auchan Cassoulet.

Get down to Lidl! They have Branston beans on special offer! Always buy them from there! They are yummy though....

We have own brand tins from Tesco and Sainsburys and I cant tell the difference.

Gone off beans with a cooked breakfast these days for some reason.

yes.. we love Branston :thumb:

Each to their own Jim my personal preference is thin juice, I cant stand Branston for this reason. The source is too thick and tangy tasting. My preference is Heinz or Waitrose. Whereas my ex who has always been a smoker loves Branston but thinks Heinz have no flavor........do I see a fable here somewhere.

How did you know that I have boobs.... No the way to do it is put the top slice over the beans then press down hard to flatten the beans so they dont fall out and bingo clean boobs.

I made these a few months ago. Very tasty they were but the cost probably works out at something like 10p per bean!
