Long enough
The height limit is supposed to be 3 metres for your vehicle when using a Toll Tag in France but has anyone driven a Motorhome slightly higher through without a problem ?
And, if so, in your experience what tolerance of height is allowed ?

Our moho is 3m high plus the sat dish positioned at the front which probably adds another 25/30 cm. We have always been identified as class 2 on our toll tag.

We are 3.03 and always get identified as Class 3. I spoke to emovis before i got a tag and they said when we get back if it says class 3 on the invoice contact them and it can be changed to class 2

We have just returned through France and used some of the toll roads, 4 booths argued 3 refused point blank @3.2 mtrs but I did go through the lorry ones sometimes and they just let us through, maybe did not want us blocking a HGV lane ?
it’s a bit of a stupid system really as class 3 is not readily available for a tag, but it is France🙂

The Augusta is 3.1mtrs with the sat dome, but the tag works fine and I've always been class 2.

I am fortunately a whisker under 3m and used the tag for the first time yesterday. Swmbo was most impressed as she's the one who has to struggle with the machine. Now just sail through even without stopping on some, leaving the boy racer whose just overtaken swearing at the barrier. :giggle:

Will be interesting to see how we get on, I usually manage the paying better than John, but some men don't read instructions 🤣

We are 2.97m
We have a bee sting ariel which puts us over 3m, if we drive forward enough to trigger the laser measurement device.

I find that if, I, as the driver, on the wrong side, get out of the van, blocking the lane, to discuss the issue, we then just get waved through!

We are 3.1m, always been hit and miss. This year I have bought a hgv version from VRIO through my business to remove the stress. I believe number of axles impacts as well not just height

We always drive through the 30kmp lanes without stopping we are 2.85m high 😊

We are at 3.4 and fly through truck lane to be honest can’t be bothered about a few quid and if l don’t look at the invoices l don’t notice the cost.

Last year I did my first trip to France in our new to us Motorhome. Autotrail Apache 700 at 4005kg and 3.05 m high. I already had an emovis tag from our caravanning days.
I contacted TollTicket Gmbh who do toll tags for larger vehicles. After sending them my vehicle spec and photos they said that the tag for the larger vehicles was not appropriate and said that the emovis tag was what I need.
They said that the primary measure used to classify vehicles was optical and set at a minimum height of 3.1m, weight only takes affect if it is over 5.5 tonnes.. This also ignored extras in the height such as Satellite Dishes and aerials.
They also warned that if I 'played safe' and went for the tag for the larger vehicle and used it at a toll station, and the toll station equipment did not classify me as a larger vehicle, then the barrier would not open.
So we went to France last September for a month with the emovis tag. We did not use the autoroute a lot, but when we did, the emovis tag worked perfectly.

Our Matrix has a Sat Dome on top. We are ok if our suspension is at its lowest setting but with the wife fully retiring and our offspring doing other things we have handed our tag back - we've got all the time in the world :)

We got on fine with our emovis, France and one for Spain/Portugal. 2.95 but the TV aerial may take us just over.

Contrary to my own quote above having recently returned l am now seeing the invoices for my trip and the cost is astronomical,
l think l am paying class 4. I am with VRIO and struggling to sort it.

3.5m rolled up to the toll with my Mango tag and it didn’t open said to the girl on the intercom camping car class 2 and the barrier went up.
The next toll booth it went up and the third I had to quote the class 2 again.
Had my bill and all class 2.

You must have asked very nicely

Looking at how they measure the overall height things like TV aerials , overcab beds , air con don’t count
