We were around Dijon in France for last 4 days my god it's hot. Moved to Germany and its still 37 degrees l. My wee whippet has been struggling. Heading along to German Alps to try and get some cooler air.

In Sens ( in car ) on way home from Allpe d huez ( PS sep note - day trip to les Deux Alpes where many motorhome sparked in shaded spot made us v envious- )

On. todays non toll drive ( cheapskates 😄) the thermometer never went below 39 degrees outside now past eleven pm in cheap hotel with air con - still sweltering 😱😱😱 Trees on route turning autumnal - crossing for home tomorrow , phone says thunderstorms here later tonight - hope so it’s like an oven.. stay cool guys

We are in Verteuil 8n the Charente. There has been no meaningful rain for 4 weeks. The temp s up to over te 30's every day and the next 7 days the same. Thank goodness we have a well for the garden.
We are in Herault, similar here, no well but i have 8 1000ltr tanks for the garden and currently down to 1200ltrs, but i do have another 1800ltrs in a small swimming pool if we get no rain. We do have a bit forcast for this evening so fingers crossed.

Meanwhile a couple of hundred km east on Lake Constance we have violent thunderstorms and heavy rain at last. Bliss.... and it cleared the kids playground that we've been given a pitch near to win:win.🤣🤣

Nice and cool in Klusserath but getting hot tomorrow 🥵

Was 36 in Netherlands but rained and thunder all last night so tonight is much cooler. Have to have a couple of whiskys to keep warm.

Been here 6 weeks France, Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium and it has been HOT up to 40 in places, making our way back and now in Arras where the temp is a cool 25 degrees.

It is the BBC. They do tend to be scaremongering.
Are these reports scaremongering?

I'm trying to help out by drinking grape and apple juice (sort of) but it does seem drier here in France than previous Augusts we've experienced.

We are also at Lake constance (Uberlingen) now and experiencing the severe thunder storms. We just can't win we have been hoping for cooler weather and some warm alpine rain but we got the wrath of God instead.

Sorry to hijack tread but are the pass sanitare still needed? We’re going to Les Mathes with the kids last week of august. Not in motorhome as loads cheaper to take car and rent static. Me and Alex are fully vax and have nhs app for the proof. Kids are 9 and 11 atm. The 11 year old will be 12 when we are in France 🤣. Typical lol. Both have had two vax. Thanks for any answers cheers

Not needed from the 1/8, typical as I'd just spent nearly hundred quid on the 'official' lateral flow tests last week 🙄

22°c Yesterday.....tad windy.... don't have to go far before we hit the thirties....

This is the Government drought map as of yesterday. We are in the Charente which has a code 2 level. Farmers are still watering crops and there is no hosepipe ban.
