heating - again! (1 Viewer)

Well, it's that time of year again!
Time for the anual scrap to find the best heater for this winter.
We get a new heater on an anual basis - don't really like hammering them for more than one season).
We always use a 2kw fan heater which for the past 4 years has been enough to keep a 34ft single slide coach warm enough and only supplement it with a 500watt skirting board heatyer in the bedroom when it gets to be constant minus temperatures.

We've always used this type..........

edit = ps, the Bionaire (as shown in the link above) was bought yesterday and is going BACK today!!!!! Flippin' 'eck it's NOISY!!!!!

edit 2. It would appear that the above links aren't working and I suspect it's the PANTS system we're running here at work!
Basically. I'm asking, are the flat, upright convector type radiators with built in "turbo-fan" any good?

Electric blanket works a treat

By coincidence we were looking in Argos yesterday at fan heaters, my choice would be an upright model which should be a lot quieter than the traditional turbo type..
The two that caught my eye were the Bionaire (which you say is noisy ).. Link Removed

which unfortunately is 3KW. Too much with everything else on board.

ps. What do you mean by "traditional turbo type" ?

Hi Zaskar
I think I have pointed to Link Removed before. They are low wattage panel heaters that are great to leave on to give a good background heat in the RV and are small enough to mount a couple around the place. I would think that if you left these on constantly and just supplimented the coach with a little extra heat in the cooler times they would provide what you wanted. They come in 200 or 400 watt varieties....Link Removed

You have.......and thanks. nice neat looking kit but I'm worried that at 500 watt, they're not gonna be man enough for the job. Plus, they are quite big (surface area) and I haven't really got a large enough blank space to mount them on, apart from either side of the bed............and I DONT fancy burnin' me bum on one 'o' them!

Just been out and bought one..

It is super silent and am well pleased, a nice addition to the electric blanket and the two oil filled heaters
