MH
Hymer A Class
Exp
2019
Hi , I am picking my wife up from Heathrow as she returns from visiting our daughter in Canada . As we live in Cumbria its a long drive to the airport , We have decided to do the pickup in MH then spend a couple of weeks touring on our way home . I very much doubt i will be able to drive my Hymer A Class into the airport pick up zone . Has anyone done this or got any tips ?

Thanks

You have to pick up from the short stay car park.
T1 and T2 seem to have an overheight price but the others only accept up to 2.5m
and ..
if you do not meet LEZ standards, then your daily charge will be £100 if under 3.5 ton or £300 if over that. Plus Heathrow charges.

Can’t comment about access with a MoHo but the last time I arranged a pick up from LHR by car it was an absolute nightmare.

Would it be a possibility that your wife could jump on the tube or a train for a couple of stops for an arranged pick up at the station? LHR is well served by both underground and regular rail links. Another alternative would be a pre-booked mini cab for the pickup and meet it at services outside the LEZ - let the driver take the strain and flak!

Park at one of the hotels on the A4 and tell her to get the free hotel transfer bus -"she is meeting her husband who is already booked in"
I was going to suggest that too but depends if MH meets LEZ. Sometimes you have to ring up and order the bus too.
Otherwise book your last night stay at one of the campsites just outside M25 on the heathrow side and your wife get a taxi to there.

Was just about to recommend a taxi but you beat me to it saves all the hassle and maybe even cheaper than the parking fee.
Don't know about Heathrow in particular but I know at East Midlands you can catch a bus at the terminal.

It is only the 'Spur' M/way link from the A4 that is included in the LEZ, not the roads around such as the A4.

You can park in the long stay car parks free for 2 hours and get the free bus.
But depends on how busy the car parks are if you can find a space you could fit into, also not sure if there are height barriers.

No, A4 Bath Road is part of the LEZ inside of the A3044. Most of the Airport Perimeter roads, other than the Western A3044 are part of the LEZ. Effectively anything part of Greater London is in the LEZ, except the M25.

It’s only just over 7 miles to either Walton on Thames or Chertsy ( if it’s reopened ) CCC sites but I reckon it’ll be £50 taxi fare

£100 PER DAY....wow.

Just as a test I ran my Rapido 3.7 t through the TFL webpage and it came back no LEZ charge but a congestion charge of £17.50 per day...is that right no LEZ charge then

There used to be a bus (probably still is) that went from Heathrow via Stained to Walton-on-Thames and Kingston.
PS. I too am surprised that Heathrow is in the zone??

I don’t think that you will need to worry about the Congestion Charge to get to Wimbledon. It’s the LEZ you need to check.

You can also use thrifty shuttle and you could park at the sheraton Heathrow for £6 for two hours

When Lucy did the London Marathon, I stopped at a lovely CL in Uxbridge. Tube was a short drive away and numerous bus connections. Pretty sure it was outside all zones.

There are 6 of us going from Heathrow in a couple of weeks so I looked at taking a small van with all the luggage in, I contacted the airport and was told no private vans are allowed, give them a ring but I’m sure it’s a no. Sorry
